Youth (2026)

Sharon Horgan is back with a new series about dating after a certain age, and while the Irish writer, producer, and actress isn’t known for going nude, the fact that now she’s made her way to HBO Max gives us a little hope that her resolve might be waning (especially because HBO already gifted us the very similar series Mrs. Fletcher, which had some great nude scenes from Kathryn Hahn). Sharon plays Alex, the fifty-year-old divorced mother of Ruari (Aran Murphy, son of Cillian), who’s now off to college. The empty nest spurs Alex to start dating after a long slump, reconnecting with a former flame (Rupert Friend), only to quickly extinguish their chances due to all the stressors in her life: her selfish actor ex (Owen McDonnell), her diabetic mom and mildly dementia-riddled dad, her job, and the fact that Ruari wants to quit school and become a stand-up comedian after an incident labels him a perv by his fellow students. Our hopes rose even higher when, in the very first episode, Sharon exposed the most booty that we’ve ever seen thanks to some low-sitting see-through panties. The tagline for Youth is “not wasted yet,” and thank goodness Sharon didn’t waste this opportunity to finally deliver some nudity!
