Born in Italy, a country that's shaped like a boot or a twisted hard-on, depending on your perspective, lovely Wendel Meldrum left her homeland for fame and fortune in the U.S. Unlike most aspiring actresses, she actually achieved that goal, landing a two-year stint on Knots Landing playing P.K. Kelly. Unfortunately, Wendel's silver-screen debut wasn't as successful. She appeared opposite another soap star, Patrick Duffy, in Vamping (1984). The experience must have left a bad taste in her mouth, because Wendel stayed off the marquee for some time and strutted her talents in such made-for-TV fare as Breakfast with Les and Bess (1985), Stark (1985), and Dallas: The Early Years (1986). She also showed up on The Pursuit of Happiness, The Wonder Years, and as the "low-talker" on Seinfeld. Thankfully, Wendel returned to the warm glow of the projector's lights with a small role as Pretty Girl with Dog in the bow-wow comedy K-9 (1989). It was less than notable, albeit well described. Never one to give up that easily, the intrepid Wendel took another try at the big time and hit with a supporting role as one of the folks who got to hang out with Rip Torn's Walt Whitman in Beautiful Dreamers (1990). Not only did the film feature her most substantial role to date, it also presented her heavy breasts joined by a meaty bum and hairy bush in a skinny-dipping scene that would make even the queer poet get up to bat for the other team. It's her only skinage caught on film, but whoa Wendel, it's enough to keep a guy busy for at least five minutes or so.
