The final film from actress, director, and indie darling Adrienne Shelly, Waitress (2006) stars luscious, well-tressed temptress Keri Russell as a waitress whose desserts are the bestest. Miserable in her marriage, unmerry Keri transforms her troubles into tasty pies, hoping to win a baking contest so she can turn tail on hubby Jeremy Sisto with the prize money. Jeremy is a scary character—Keri's been squirreling away earnings to get away from him for a while. But when she finds herself pregnant, escape looks like an ever more distant dream.
