Set in 1974, we find Fernando (Iván Massagué), a talented young chef, and his brother Alberto (Pol López), having just fled the political upheaval of Barcelona and now settling in the bayside town of Cadaqués. They find work at the Costa Brava, a restaurant owned by Jules (José García), and the Spanish chefs immediately get inspiration for their dishes from the town and its most famous resident, the surrealist artist Salvador Dali, who Jules dreams will one day pay the restaurant a visit. The film has a duo of dollies showing skin: Clare Ponsot plays Fernando’s love interest Lola, and when the two start to consummate on a giant cake we get a quick peek at her right pillow, while Varvara Borodina plays a topless sunbather who gets injured when a military man makes the beachgoers scatter by shooting off his gun. Thankfully the brothers are able to help her, and give us a closer look at Vavara’s voluptuousness.
