Trying (2020-2021)

Trying (2020) is a sweet British comedy about modern coupledom on AppleTV. Jason and Nikki are a couple that want to have a family, but it turns out to be too much of a physical struggle to do so. Their next option is adoption, but they fear that their friends, families, and generally outrageous lives will rule them out as adoptive parents. They try as hard as they can to seem like the perfect options for parents, but it winds up failing disastrously. Will they fail up? Will it matter that they are at least trying - hey, that's the title! You will enjoy watching this comedy about this couple that is simply trying their best as parents, partners, and generally good people. Rafe Spall stars as the man in the relationship and Esther Smith stars as Nikki. Esther Smith also manages to show off her mams a little bit when she and her man go to a costume shop to try on different things. She dresses up as a judge or barrister of some kind, complete with the white curly wig. It's a sexy barrister outfit with a low-cut and tight black dress that is also pretty short. This dress clings to her shape, shows off her thighs, and barely buttons up over her breasts which is where we get a great head-on view of her cleavage in a red bra. She asks if there isn't anything in the shop that doesn't demean women, but we think that costume is empowering...to her pair.
