Queenie (2024)

Based on Candice Carty-Williams’ acclaimed novel, the series introduces us to the titular character (Dionne Brown) while getting a gynecological exam. The doctor discovers something, but it’s not what you think. 25-year-old South Londoner Queenie learns she has had a miscarriage due to having a shallow cervix, but instead of confiding this to her white boyfriend Tom (Jon Pointing) or her Jamaican British family, she keeps it in, causing tension both at work and home. After she and Tom split up, Queenie’s sent into the typical downward spiral of drinking, rough sex, and letting career ambitions slide over work frustration that comes with identity-questioning self-ploration. Elisha Applebaum’s Cassandra tries to help her clear her head and focus with some hot yoga and even hotter cleavage, while Dionne serves up some sexiness in a Playboy bunny costume.
