The Girlfriend (2025)

Daniel (Laurie Davidson) is a med student on his way to becoming surgeon when he starts dating a working-class woman named Cherry (Olivia Cooke). Things start to get ugly when he introduces her to his well-to-do mother, Laura (Robin Wright). From Laura’s perspective, Cherry seems like a gold digger who lies about everything, especially her seemingly dark past. But when we see things through Cherry’s eyes, Laura comes off as too possessive and without boundaries. Which is the truth? Both? Neither? When we’re introduced to Robin’s character, she does some underwater “wrestling” with her son while in a tight swimsuit. She spends a lot of time dressed for a swim, sporting some deep cleavage, and even locks lips with Anna Chancellor (Daniel’s parents have an open relationship). Shalom Brune-Franklin also turns up in a teeny bikini as Brigitte, Daniel’s ex and the daughter of Laura’s bestie who joins the family and Cherry on holiday. But Olivia is the MVP with the only real nudity of the series. There are tons of scenes throughout with a scantily-clad Olivia, but in the third episode we get a glimpse of her naked glutes as she lays ass up by a pool. This Girlfriend will have you ready to commit to some self love!
