The Gingerbread Man (1998) is not the sweet cookie we thought it was, and we hope we’ve not damaged our computer by drooling all over it in the time it took for us to realize this fact. Instead, we’re in director Robert Altman land, as he adapts a novel by legal-thriller bestseller John Grisham. Kenneth Branagh plays a lawyer who after a one-night stand with Embeth Davidtz is hooked on this honey like heroin. This leads to a pretty contrived plot, but who really cares? We’re not in it for the drama, but the dames. Embeth delivers her goods, albeit in a poorly lit full-frontal scene, though she redeems that bad lighting later with a better look at her butt.
