The Devil's Whore (2008)

You won’t find any Satanic streetwalkers, but you will find a whole lot of bodice-ripping in the steamy British miniseries The Devil’s Whore (2008). Set during the tumultuous days of England’s Wars of the Roses, The Devil’s Whore assembles a colorful cast of Roundheads and Royalists battling for control of both church and state. This epic tale is told through the eyes of a fictional 17-year-old manor lady, Angelica Fanshawe (Andrea Riseborough). It’s a good thing Andrea isn’t really 17, because she bares her lovely little aristocratic niblets for her new hubby on their wedding night, and again under less slappy circumstances as a marauding soldier tries to have his way with her. Still, Andrea's apples will really give your Roundhead a Riseborough!
