The Devil's Double (2011)

The bizarre true tale of Saddam Hussein's home life gets a big-screen adaptation in The Devil’s Double (2011). When Latif Yahia (Dominic Cooper) is kidnapped by Uday Hussein (also played by Cooper) and asked to become his body double, it’s an offer he can’t refuse…mostly because if he doesn’t, Uday will have his family killed. Embedded in the Hussein household, Latif witnesses acts of both decadent depravity and unbelievable cruelty at the hands of the psychotic Uday. Latif attempts to escape, but you don’t reject a dictator’s son without some pretty extreme consequences. French fox Ludivine Sagnier (Swimming Pool) bares boobs and butt in bed with Uday (or is it Latif?) 46 minutes in, and at the 1 hour, 10 minute mark an entire party full of women strips down to their birthday suits. But there’s a dark side to this nude bacchanal, like the terrorized schoolgirl who appears in bra and panties 28 minutes in. The Devil’s Double will make you polish your pitchfork! The Devil's Double is made by the same guy that did Die Another Day, the bond film, so viewers can expect plenty of bombast and little realism throughout. It's a shame too, because had it embraced more of a true story it could have been quite fascinating. Nonetheless, Dominic Cooper does a phenomenal job playing the two leads. The only thing that could have made it better, in Mr. Skin's estimation, would be a heck of a lot more nudity on display. If we're talking about devils and demons, some more T and A should be part of the equation!
