Statuesque softcore superstar Shannon Tweed is The Dark Dancer (1995). More specifically, she portrays Dr. Margaret Simpson, a psychologist working on the eminently admirable theory that to best understand the mindset of a stripper, one must work as a stripper. Putting her hypothesis into pole-swinging, lap-dancing action, the (very) good doctor finds the experience of exposing her body for the pleasures of paying customers to be fun, fulfilling, and udderly liberating. This being an erotic thriller, though, some killer-of-peelers has to ooze out of the woodwork and put a damper on our heroine's good time. Watch for a skinventive flash-back appearance by Amy Lindsay as the younger version of Shannon's character. This is one film about a shrink that will do anything but shrink its male viewers.
