Review

In the tradition of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask (1972), The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain (1995), and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) comes The Cow Who Sang a Song into the Future (2023). Sure, these long-winded titles act as plot spoilers but at least you know what you’re getting. Also known as La vaca que cantó una canción hacia el futuro, the latter flick was a critical hit at film festivals. However, it was a flop at the box office. Nevertheless, it’s worth a watch (preferably with a box of tissues). The supernatural story follows Magdalena (Mía Maestro). She drowned in a river in rural Chile, but years later she washes onto the shore, looking as alive as she did before. In other words, the sexy brunette is half-specter, half force of nature, and totally hot! As such, Magdalena finds her husband Pablo (Benjamin Soto). But the shock of seeing his dead wife alive puts him in the hospital. Since their adult daughter (Leonor Varela) is a doctor, she brings Pablo back home to his farm where her brother (Marcial Tagle) can care for him. Magdalena proceeds to haunt the farm fully nude, showing off her boooo-tiful Bs as she showers off the years of mud and river water. Seeing Mía’s mams is an udder pleasure!
