A displaced opera singer finds love with a provincial official in the Hungarian drama Te rongyos élet (aka Oh, Bloody Life) (1983). The year is 1951, and Lucy Sziráky (Dorottya Udvaros) is an adorable up-and-comer on the theater scene in Budapest. But then the Communist government banishes Lucy and her husband to the countryside due to his aristocratic background; out of place in their new rural environment, Lucy and her husband struggle to fit in with poor peasants and exiled aristocrats alike. Then Lucy meets dashing village Party secretary Kiptár Joseph (Laszlo Szacsvay), and suddenly her boring provincial life has nude meaning. Dorottya bares her dairies in multiple topless scenes throughout the film, with a lovely look at her lush furburgerage an hour and four minutes in. Anybody else feeling Hungary?
