Son de mar (2001)

A literature teacher in a small provincial town is swept into a love triangle with a pretty bar girl and a wealthy heir in the gallant Spanish romantic drama Son de mar (2001). Translating to "Sound of the Sea," Bigas Luna’s esteemed arthouse film is based on a highly acclaimed novel that takes place in the tiny coastal town of Denia, Spain. It stars Jordi Mollà as Ulises, a bookish young man who makes a big splash upon arriving in the snug seaside hamlet to take a gig as a Literature teacher. After renting an apartment, he falls in love with the landlord's gorgeous daughter Martina (Leonor Watling). After wooing her with some book quotes, Ulises knocks her up despite the wealthy cad Sierra (Eduard Fernández) putting on a full court press of courting Martina, mostly by throwing his cash around. When Ulises disappears and is presumed dead, she hooks up with the rich guy, only for Ulises to pop back into her life a little bit later and cause all sorts of chaos. Luna’s scorching tale is marked by tragedy and death, but passion’s what it boasts in spades. Watling delivers more than half a dozen memorable reveals over the course of a very steamy hour and a half. Some of the best Son skin includes a look at her boobs and bush while she hangs out on a mortician's slab pretending to be dead, an appearance of her jiggling jugs as Ulises plays with her titties, and a crazy scene where the English teacher starts pushing her hooters together like he's molding clay. We'd sure like to sculpt-her, too! Don't let the sad ending mar all the sexy scenes in Son de mar!
