Something About Sex (1998)

Dinner parties can be perilous undertakings. There seems to be always one overbearing alpha bore who strives to monopolize the conversation and aims to take the entire table’s attention hostage, usually with yawningly disastrous results. The über blowhard invited to supper in Denial (1998), a.k.a. Something About Sex, is an ego-driven writer who holds forth upon the impossibility of monogamy. The results are both fortuitous and amusing. Initially the writer’s fellow guests dismiss him and his theorizing as pompous controversialist rhetoric, but after the final course is served, zippers come down, breasts pop out, and sheets are rumpled. Monogamy doesn’t stand a chance.
