In the original Jonathan Glazer film from 2000, Ray Winstone plays a retired thief named Gal Dove, who’s carefree life in the Spanish countryside with his wife DeeDee (Amanda Redman) gets interrupted when a crazy compadre from his criminal days, Don Logan (Ben Kingsley), threatens him into doing one last job. The prequel series shows the two men (now played by James McArdle and Emun Elliott, respectively) at the beginning of their rise throughout London’s dark underbelly. Stephen Moyer steps into Ian McShane’s shoes as crime boss Teddy Bass, who recruits them for a big job, while Eliza Bennett is Marjorie, Gal’s girlfriend who we already know is toast once he meets the low-rent porn actress (now played by Sarah Greene) he’ll eventually go on to marry. Eliza sports a sexy pink bra in the shows premiere, and though Sarah uses a body double when we see her breasts on the playback screen, we at least get to see her in some lacy lingeries while she’s hard at work on set. It also doesn’t hurt that her cure costars actually do bare their beautiful boobs, putting the “sexy” in Sexy Beast!
