German national treasure Rainer Werner Fassbinder directs Rio das Mortes (1971), a story of two buddies with a wild dream. Michel and Guenther decide to abandon their dull jobs and go on a treasure-seeking quest in Peru, using a map to the Rio das Mortes ("river of the dead").
