Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)

For all of its lack of future prospects and fulfilling nightlife, a post-apocalyptic city of the dead would seem to at least offer its citizens the prospect of enjoying the remainder of eternity free from any major upheavals. Imagine the disappointment of a repose-craving corpse who moves into the necropolis at the center of Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004). Not only do the dearly expired of Resident Evil (2002) have to deal with reanimating viruses and involuntary resurrection through engineered mutations, but the infernal meddling of a vast and diabolically crafty corporation has marginalized them, demonized them, and made them the target of a scientifically assembled über-ghoul who robs life after death of all its coming attractions. Yet amid this bleak scenario, action horror fans can feast their eyes on Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory), Terri Morales (Sandrine Holt), Angela “Angie” Ashford (Sophie Vavasseur) and the alluring Alice (Milla Jovovich). If they’re not sexy enough, Ana Danilina and Venice Grant will make you pant at the movie’s 28-minute mark. As topless zombies, these two stunners show off their brief-baring buns and bloody bare breasts. Needless to say, the car-crashing beauties stop traffic — literally! Not to be upstaged, Ms. Jovovich displays her naked T&A while floating a tank. Since the movie provides an entertaining balance of blood and guts as well as boobs and butts, it’s no surprise it spawned the sequels Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010), Resident Evil: Retribution (2012), and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016). So, what’s next?
