Red Cow (2018)

In this Israeli coming of age drama, we definitely get a peek behind the curtain of an Israel of the early 90s, in the days before the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin in 1995.  We follow Benni (Avigail Kovari), who is a redhead girl who is 16 going on 17 and was orphaned by her mother at a young age and has been basically raised by her right-wing, borderline extremist father on a farm in an illegal settlement on the West Bank.  When a slightly more rare red heifer is born on the farm, Benni's dear old dad takes it as an omen that the Third Temple of Jerusalem is going to be popping up any day now and (depending on the historical take on the Torah), could spell a new age for Judaism in the holy land.  Well, needless to say, Benni at 16 years old is more interested in music, having a good time with friends, and her budding sexuality which is definitely taking the front seat in most of her actions on the farm.  This includes some steamy lesbian sex with her friend Yael (Moran Rosenblatt), where they share a couple of on screen get downs for your viewing pleasure.  The gorgeous ginger gal, Avigail Kovari, is the lone nudie in this indie flick, but the sultry get downs between her and Moran Rosenblatt are absolutely dynamite and are worthy of note in this one.  Definitely tune into this one that gives you an interesting backdrop of early 90s Israel on a farm as a backdrop to Benni finding her sexuality amidst a crisis of faith, family, and sexuality.  Also, a pretty adorable cow.
