Acclaimed Japanese filmmaker and one of the leading voices in subversive cinema, Sion Sono (Love Exposure, Cold Fish), teamed up with beloved film icon Nicolas Cage for the wild genre mash-up Prisoners of the Ghostland (2021). Set on the outskirts of the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Japan in a town known as Samurai Town, the film focuses on bank robber Hero (Cage), who was imprisoned after a bank robbery gone awry set off a chain reaction in the nearby town of Ghostland that led to the calamity which left this area of the world a nuclear wasteland. Hero's partner in crime Psycho (Nick Cassavetes) was responsible for the events, but Hero ended up imprisoned for it as well. Now, the corrupt ruler of Samurai Town known as The Governor (Bill Moseley) needs Hero's assistance as his "granddaughter" Bernice (Sofia Boutella) has escaped from The Governor's clutches and made her way to Ghostland. If Hero will help retrieve her and bring her back to the Governor, he'll get a full pardon, but to make sure he complies, he's fitted with a bodysuit that will blow him up if he attempts to escape before completing his mission. However, once Hero discovers that Bernice is not the Governor's granddaughter, but his sex slave, he'll set out to do the right thing and take the Governor down once and for all. While this film has a ton of fun action in it, it's unfortunately not of the variety we love here at Mr. Skin! Sofia Boutella makes her escape from the Governor in a flimsy tank top and some white panties, but that's about as close as we get to nudity in this flick.
