Another adaptation of Scott Turow’s 1987 twisty crime novel that follows the 1990 film version starring Harrison Ford, this time putting Jake Gyllenhaal in the driver’s seat as chief deputy prosecutor for Chicago Rusty Sabich. He has a beautiful home, a loving wife (Ruth Negga), and two children, Jaden (Chase Infiniti) and Kyle (Kingston Rumi Southwick) - a dream life that’s about to come crashing down when a fellow prosecutor named Carolyn Polhemus (Renate Reinsve) is found brutally murdered. With his boss up for re-election, Rusty is pushed to take the case and lead the investigation in the hopes it’ll secure a victory against his two opponents, prosecutors Nico Della Guardia (O-T Fagbenle) and Tommy Molto (Jake’s real-life brother-in-law, Peter Sarsgaard), but when it’s revealed that Rusty had an affair with Carolyn, he becomes the prime suspect and promptly arrested. We see him constantly plagued by memories of the affair, with plenty of flashes to Renate’s rack and rump in the first two episodes. It’s safe to presume your hands won't be able to remain innocently idle while watching!
