Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron presents this miniseries adaptation of Renee Knight’s 2015 novel of the same name, and after a brief overture where we watch Liv Hill and Louis Partridge having sex on a European train, the audience is introduced (by real-life journalist Christiane Amanpour no less) to Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate Blanchett), a famous documentarian who’s receiving a prestigious award. From there we head over to a much darker scene, narrated by Kevin Kline, who plays widowed schoolteacher Stephen Brigstocke. These are the three storylines that will eventually intersect when Catherine receives a mysterious manuscript called The Perfect Stranger, a story that she realizes while reading it is actually about a terrible transgression from her past. The real fun though is back in Italy, where after Liv flashes some fanny on the train, she also pulls up her skirt and shows off her undies on a gondola. She ends up returning to London, leaving Leila George to take up the nudity torch as young Catherine. She appears in some sexy selfies, including one where she’s pulled her bikini bottom aside to bare some bush. Forget cheese - say beeeeaaaaav!
