From actress and writer Lena Waithe comes The Chi, a Showtime series about what life is really like on the infamous Southside of Chicago. It's an area often sensationalized in the news for gang violence and homicides. Still, famous figures (like Waithe herself) have come from the multi-faceted tapestry of neighborhoods: Barack and Michelle, for starters. The stars of the show are Kevin, a preteen learning the ropes, Brandon, Emmett, Keisha, and Ronnie - all people whose young lives converge in the Windy City.
