Hotter-than-curry Indian dish Padma Lakshmi has spent the better part of her life as a knockout model, a profession that usually allows instant entry into the acting profession. She made the jump in 1998 with a bit part in the Italian TV movie Caraibi opposite Anna Falchi. It wasn’t much, but it did lead to a more sizable part in Mariah Carey’s box-office bomb Glitter (2001). Neither movie went so far as to show off any of Padma’s better assets, but luckily fans can plunder her priceless booty—er, boobies—in Pirates: Blood Brothers (1998). Nowadays Padma, who is divorced from Satanic Verses author Salman Rushdie, doesn’t allow her own savory salmon patties to rush out of her shirt, instead opting to cook some—she’s the author of several bestselling cookbooks as well as the hostess with the mostest on Bravo’s hit reality show Top Chef. Tasty!
