Knock knock! Who's there? We'll never know because Nobody's Home (2013). Köksüz, as it was known in its native Turkey, puts the old Turkish Twist (as it's known in the industry) on the patented fractured family drama. The film follows four members of the same family who were torn apart by the sudden and unexpected death of the family's father. The youngest of the now adult children, Feride (Ahu Türkpençe) somehow takes on the role of father to a mother Nurcan (Lale Basar) who can't process the grief. Meanwhile, oldest sister Gültan (Mihriban Er) avoids dealing with it altogether, preferring to numb herself through sex—and giving the film its only remotely sexy content. It's not as skinsational as you might want, considering there's four female leads, but what can you do?
