Memoria Interna (2017)

Technology addiction is a thing, it's a scientific fact!  People today are glued to their phones and basically are beginning to get dowager's humps int heir neck by the time they are 20 years old because they're hunched over 24 hours a day!  Well this sci-fi short flick out of Argentina, Memoria Interna, gives us a brief glimpse into a horrific and very realistic not-too-distant future where humans have implants in their eyes and ears that allow them to replay moments from their lives in real life, the only snag is that it's both as addictive as Tinder, CandyCrush, and Facebook all rolled into one, but it also pretty much has the ability to turn people into zombies as they zone out watching their favorite moments of their lives over and over again!  For the sexy and broken hearted Nina (Sabrina Macchi), she's stuck reminiscing about her ex-boyfriend who ended their relationship a little while back.  She sits in her bed, watching back to all the times they had sex (much to our delight, topless), rewinding and replaying over and over again.  She brushes her teeth and remembers when her boyfriend made a joke in the same bathroom, over and over and over again...  It doesn't become a problem, until she almost drowns in a technology daze while taking a bath and her boyfriend has to come in and slap her out of it before she accidentally kills herself!  For anyone that has owned a smartphone for the better part of the last decade can attest, this idea probably hits a little too close to home, so just imagine if they were implanted in your eyes and ears and you could relive the glory days again and again and again... You'd probably end up a zombie too!
