The great-niece of two noted Brazilian artists, actor José de Abreu and poet Raul Bopp, Maria’s first breakthrough role was on the television series Oscar Freire 279 in 2011. The actor and activist gained international notoriety for starring in the drama Call Me Bruna as an upper middle class woman who abandons her plush life to become one of the most requested call girls in Sāo Paulo.
