The short lived streaming service Quibi wasn't long for this world, but it did give us some great content while it was around, like the murder mystery parody series Mapleworth Murders, which ran for a single 12 episode season in 2020. While the series only ran for 12 episodes, each episode ran for only seven minutes, so there were actually a total of four mysteries broken up into three parts each over the course of the show's run. The show, which was executive produced by Lorne Michaels and Seth Meyers, was created by stars Paula Pell and John Lutz as a spoof on the classic Angela Lansbury series Murder, She Wrote. Pell stars as Abigail Mapleworth, a mystery writer who fancies herself an amateur sleuth and begins investigating a series of murders in her small New England hometown, never really stopping to consider why this sleepy hamlet is such a hotbed of homicides. Each episode featured a different big name star—usually an SNL alum like Tina Fey, Andy Samberg, Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen, Chris Parnell, and Tim Meadows—as the murder victim, with the hapless police chief (J.B. Smoove) often deferring to Ms. Mapleworth, who is clearly better at solving crime than he is. Paula Pell is not only hilariously funny in the series, she adds some unexpected sex appeal in episode ten when her top pops open, exposing her left breast! It's a startlingly sexy moment in a show mostly built around laughs, just be careful not to leave behind any DNA evidence after you're done enjoying the scene... if you catch our drift!
