Our Canadian cousins are different than us. Take Loving and Laughing (1971), a farce from Quebec that was rated X and still managed to be a hit. The story is about a wealthy guy who ends up in a hippie commune and likes it. Well, what’s not to like when all the igloo-melting hotties keep taking off their clothes to sleep with him? Michèle Mercure is one of the flower children who open up their petals for a full-bloom look at their buds. This film supposedly sends up both the conservatives and the hippies, but who has time to understand such subtleties when there’s so muff to see!
