Lola, vende ca (2002)

Filmmaker Llorenç Soler uses a unique blend of drama and documentary to explore the culture and history of Spanish gypsies in the inventive docudrama Lola, vende ca (2002). The dramatic thrust of the story concerns a young woman (Cristiana Brondo) who finds strength in the gypsy culture after her family rejects her request for permission to marry a mysterious young drifter. The fictional elements of Soler’s film work to shine light on the hidden world of the gypsies, but it’s the candid documentary and interview footage that really lift the veil on the little-known culture. All of the skin comes in the fictional segment, however, as Brondo bares her buxom body for some gloriously elongated boffing sessions.
