LaToya Jackson began trading on her famous family name when, coincidentally (or not), The Jackson 5 was waning in popularity and had lost their Motown contract. In 1976 she accompanied her more famous siblings in the Las Vegas variety show The Jacksons, which became a one-season TV flop later the same year. Since then her career has been a nepotistic patchwork of one-off guest appearances as herself on such shows as Mad TV, The Howard Stern Show, and The Fall Guy, not to mention her 1992 entry into the Dionne Warwick-pioneered arena of telephone tarot, LaToya Jackson's Psychic Friends Network. Perhaps her most well-known "body" of work is what she's done for Playboy. Her 1987 pictorial spread was the best-selling issue in the history of the magazine, and her collection of Playboy videos have also been top sellers. Supposedly her manager/husband Jack Gordon prodded her to show off her below-the-nose plastic to the world; they divorced in 1997 after his unsuccessful attempt to get her into hardcore porn.
