Lady Bird (2017)

Mumblecore maven Greta Gerwig makes her solo directorial debut with the acclaimed, Oscar-nominated dramedy Lady Bird (2017). This semi-autobiographical film tells the story of Christine (Saoirse Ronan) and her final year at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic High School in Sacramento, California circa 2002. Disliking her given name, she takes on the moniker Lady Bird and looks for love, acceptance, and friendship — all while dealing with her overly critical mother (Laurie Metcalfe); dating a new boyfriend (Lucas Hedges) who is in the closet; and balancing her bestie (Beanie Feldstein) with a cadre of rich kids she doesn’t respect yet uses to climb the social ladder. Ms. Ronan really comes into her own here, exploring her sexuality on screen in a way that we haven’t seen before. Sadly, this doesn’t include any nudity. But luckily, the blonde babe shows off her bra-clad boobs when she is deflowered by a teenaged player (Timothée Chalamet). The cast also includes Tracy Letts, Kathryn Newton, Laura Marano, Lois Smith, and Odeya Rush’s fab flesh! As Jenna Walton, the sexy brunette dons an itsty bitsy teeny weeny bikini while swimming in her pool. If that’s not hot enough, she’s joined by a similarly (un)dressed Saoirse. Needless to say, these bathing beauties will make a splash in your pants. Perhaps that’s why the flick picked up Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture - Comedy and Best Actress - Comedy (Ronan) from the Hollywood Foreign Press. And when it comes to Mr. Skin, Lady Bird catches his worm!
