La vida que te espera (2004)

Residents of Spain’s pastoral northern countryside chafe at the prospect of change in the lyrical culture-clash drama La Vida que te espera (2004). Strict new EU regulations and generational differences cause rural neighbors Gildo (Juan Diego) and Severo (Celso Bugallo) to experience a rift. When an argument over prized livestock turns violent, Gildo accidentally kills Severo. The resulting cover-up threatens to undo the idyllic way of life that their region has maintained for centuries. One thing’s for certain--country living has done fine things for Gildo’s beautiful daughter Val (Marta Etura). The foxy farmhand shows off her all-natural beauty during a (literal!) roll in the hay.
