We here at Skin Central can certainly relate to Christopher Eccleston in Jude (1996), a take on Thomas Hardy’s novel Jude the Obscure, as he basically deals with a series of hardships leading to tragedy. That sounds like our typical workweek—except that we don’t get to have sex with Rachel Griffiths and Kate Winslet. Come to think of it, what’s this guy whining about? We’d gladly lose our religious faith and have our ambitions crushed for just one night with either of that pair’s pairs. Still, director Michael Winterbottom does a fine job of presenting this classic tale in a cold-ass fashion.
