Directed by Icelandic-born filmmaker María Sólrún Sigurðardóttir, the coming-of-age tale Jargo (2003) explores the difficulties in adapting to new ethnic, national, and cultural surroundings. The titular Jargo (Constantin von Jascheroff) is a Saudi-born rich kid who relocates to Germany when his father (Udo Kier) commits suicide. Arriving from a glittering, opulent world, Jargo takes shelter in a low-income German housing project, where he befriends a Turkish criminal (Oktay Özdemir) who teaches him to navigate the tough Berlin streets. Jargo’s rocky transition is thankfully aided by central European beauties Nora von Waldstätten and Josefine Preuss, who teach the new kid about the geography of the female form in a pair of ravishing reveals.
