Filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson plunges into Robert Altman territory with the ensemble dramedy Inherent Vice (2014) featuring an A-list cast including Reese Witherspoon, Jena Malone, Maya Rudolph, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Benicio del Toro, Martin Donovan, and Martin Short. In the first ever film adaptation of one of author Thomas Pynchon’s books, Joaquin Phoenix stars as private dick Doc Sportello who lives in a haze of drugs on the Los Angeles beach in the seventies. He quickly finds himself in over his head when his ex-girlfriend Shasta (Katherine Waterston) gets him involved in a kidnapping plot regarding her new billionaire boyfriend (Eric Roberts). Of course, all you need to know is that the billionaire’s wife (Serena Scott Thomas) dons some sexy swimwear that nicely shows off her deep cleavage and butt crack. Not to be outdone, the lovely Luz (Yvette Yates) flashes her gams via a pair of short skorts. If it’s not obvious by now, one of the things that P.T.A.’s films are famous for is fantastic nudity. And this flick is no exception, especially when the exceptional Ms. Waterston goes full frontal at the 1:44-minute mark. She then shows her sensational seat meat five minutes later when her man gives her a good spanking! There’s also a great view of the be-thonged booty on Clancy Charlock (Belladonna), and a non-nude bit when Jade (Hong Chau) goes down on Bambi (Shannon Collis). What a dear! Add it all up and you’ve got a movie that should have been titled Skinherent Nice!
