Mr. Skin often wonders what it's like to grow up under the scrutiny of the limelight. When you've been discovered at the tender age of nine like British babe Holly Aird, then you know no other life but show business. Yet the buxom brunette has not been as showy in the business as some of her contemporaries. She's been a staple of the English Isle's TV industry since playing Miss Polly in The History of Mr. Polly (1980)--lucky guy. OK, perverts, she was only eleven at the time, but she continued that winning streak (though not actually streaking) with other child-friendly TV such as The Tale of Beatrix Potter (1982). Holly passed from child star to adult star without any of the clichéd drug arrests or mental breakdowns. She is now best known as the forensic pathologist in the BBC series Waking the Dead. She took a break to be with her family, as her son had a rare blood disease, but he's recovered and Holly has returned to the big screen with Scenes of a Sexual Nature (2006). Why, those are Mr. Skin's favorite scenes! One might think that Holly had conferred with Mr. Skin on her celluloid flesh-ventures, but we can report that the meeting between them never happened. What did happen, however, was Holly showing her cake again in the TV series Have Your Cake and Eat It. Aird is one of the most prolific actresses working today, and we anticipate great and skin-ful things in the future.
