Go Fish (1994)

Go Fish (1994) is about lesbos using their mouths, but not on each other's mounds: it's a talky indie that can get a little windy if you're not ready for round after round of chat. College girl Guinevere Turner is tired of the celibate life, and her professor roomie, T. Wendy McMillan, thinks she should cast her line in the direction of V.S. Brodie, a hippiefied old acquaintance they run into in a coffee shop. After a movie and some conversation, the two get to kissing—and then V.S. reveals that her V is already spoken for. But the keeper of her V has moved to another city, and Guin finds hope in the hopelessness of long-distance relationships. The movie meanders through the real-life matters of this group of girl gropers whose lives center around each other's friendship, around their apartments and houses and the broad bars they sometimes visit. Though it's short on sensationalism, Go Fish nevertheless gained some small fame for its scene in which the ladies debate their favorite term for 'tang. Among the contenders are "girlpatch," "honeypot," "love mound," and "bearded clam."
