Review

In Genesis (1998), a sublime, surrealist fantasy, a sculptor’s wife dies in a car accident. Not knowing what to do with his grief, the artist begins to sculpt a figure of his wife. As he nears completion, the sculpture begins to come to life and he himself begins to turn to stone. Two words that come to mind when contemplating this film are: unusual and beautiful. Trae Houlihan plays the sculpture and gives us ravishing glimpses of her twin tympanis and muffin.
