Forever, Lulu (1987)

Originally released on VHS as Crazy Streets, Forever, Lulu (1987) follows Elaine (Hanna Schygulla), a toilet-seat-company worker entertaining dreams of becoming a successful novelist while churning out adult movie scripts to pay the bills. After getting canned from her job and evicted from her home, she is mistaken for a mugger by a wealthy couple, who hand her their belongings, which unleashes a strange sequence of events that finds her being trailed by some mob toughs. Murder, drugs, mayhem, and the very first screen appearance by hirsute heartthrob Alec Baldwin all figure into this Desperately Seeking Susan-style case of mistaken identity. And with the added bonus of Blondie chanteuse Debbie Harry as Lulu, you’re sure to find yourself in a state of “Rapture”!
