Accustomed to wealth and success, a lawyer’s high-powered life is thrown into disarray with the news that her mother has taken ill in the German TV melodrama Ein Sommertraum (2001). Abandoning her Italian photographer boyfriend and her work on a high-profile case, Dorothea Straub (Katharina Böhm) retreats to her mother’s bedside to assist with her rehabilitation. In doing so, she meets a sensitive physiotherapist and experiences a radical shift in her priorities. But that doesn’t mean the fun’s completely over--Böhm finds time to decompress with a naked swan dive into a refreshing-looking swimming pool.
