Disappeared (2004) is a British TV movie about a family man searching for his missing daughter in Istanbul. Film is like a mask we remove from our deepest, most secret and embarrassing fantasies and broadcast on the big screen for everyone to see. It’s like they lose the power to shame when shared publicly. Who’s fantasy it was to see Mercedes Grower in a sequined mask, dancing topless around a metal pole in some ethnic covering (covering that she uncovers fairly quickly), we can’t say. The filmmaker? The screenwriter? The actress herself? Who knows? All we can say is we like it, and we say that by putting our hard-on in hand and spewing our enthusiasm in semen.
