Devour (2005)

An appetite isn’t really deserving of the name unless it demands to be overindulged, and that goes double for the hunger for violence. Killing and maiming provide much of the visual highlights and are thematically central to the thinking man’s splatter thriller Devour (2005). A cool nihilist named Jake Cummings has indoctrinated his desperately hip friends in the rules and strategies of a potentially fatal role-playing game called "The Pathway". Seeing as everyone involved is the most intimate of acquaintances, no one pulls out of play when the less-nimble among the pals turn up dead. Before Jake has his bellyful, the contest threatens to Devour the entire earth in an epidemic of rabid attacks.
