Based on a popular romance novel by Utta Danella, Dietmar Klein’s Der Blaue Vogel (2001) is a simmering melodrama about a German clan with a mysterious curse hanging over them. Although the titular blue bird is supposed to bring good fortune and prosperity, the Kamphoven family somehow falls prey to the dark. In fact, sisters Christine (Annett Renneberg) and Mara (Alexandra Schiffer) nearly tear their family apart when they both fall in love with the same man (Dietmar Schönherr). The ridiculously lucky Schönherr gets to make an enviable choice--both beauties show why they’re impossible to turn down in ravishing nude turns, with supporting actress Jenny-Marie Muck tossing in some supple cleavage for good measure.
