Cuore sacro (2005)

A small-time crook’s sudden suicide wreaks havoc on the psyche of a cold-hearted businesswoman in the tensely dramatic Cuore sacro (2005). Slovakian bombshell Barbora Bobulova stars as Irene, a young entrepreneur who’s just won a prestigious prize when she encounters the wayward Benny (Camille Dugay Comencini). Irene decides to take the young girl under her wing but is in no way prepared for the effect that their friendship--and Benny’s sudden death--will have on her. Italo-Turkish director Ferzan Ozpetek was complimented for displaying maturity in this, his fifth feature. Certainly Bobulova’s scenes are for grown-up eyes only, as the Slovak peels off her lingerie amidst an awestruck crowd.
