Director Nicolas Roeg and his favorite leading lady, Theresa Russell, are back together for Cold Heaven (1990), the haunting story of a woman's battle with her faith and her past. Tantalizing Theresa has been doing some boinking outside the marital bed, planning all the while to leave hubby Mark Harmon for good. Unfortunately Mark up and dies on her before she can break the news; he croaks in a boating accident, and as if that weren't foreboding enough, his body then disappears before an autopsy can be done. Guilty and experiencing strange visions of her hubby, Theresa starts to suspect that he isn't really dead after all. Then she starts remembering visitations she once had from the Virgin Mary herself, and, desperate for an answer, she turns to nun Talia Shire and priests Will Patton and Richard Bradford for guidance.
