Coffee Date (2006), the full-length version of an award-winning 2001 short of the same name, stars Jonathan Bray as a guy who's doing okay, has bills to pay, and wouldn't mind finding a new lady lay . . . and then starts to wonder if he might be gay. See, his jokester brother, Jonathan Silverman, has set him up on a blind date with someone named Kelly, and Jon thinks he's going to join a woman for a cup of joe. What he gets instead is a big old cup of bro, in the form of Wilson Cruz. Bemused by his brother's ruse, Jon chats with Wilson and ends up having a good round of platonic yackety-yack. But now everyone in his life knows and is suggesting that maybe he prefers guys in the sack. Ack! Why is everyone so eager to see him abandon beaver? Is it possible that this fan of vajayjay has always been a little gay? A good-natured comedy of mistaken identities and sexual confusion, Coffee Date is queen-size fun.
