Climates (2006) stars Turkish writer-director Nuri Bilge Ceylan as a gloomy college professor whose relationship with his wife, played by Nuri's real-life lady, Ebru Ceylan, is no longer a Turkish delight. Things aren't the least bit sweet for these two anymore; he's a distant, selfish, frosty sort, and she's prone to crybabying and acting like a brat. Things reach a breaking point while they're vacationing in the sunny seaside resort of Kas, so, fed up, Nuri gives up and gets naughty with his old mistress (snazzy Nazan Kirilmis). It's not the most satisfying of encounters, however, and when Nuri learns that his wife has taken a television production job in a wintry town in the east, he heads out to see her. Can he undo the mistakes of the past and do Ebru once more?
