Just when the hype was dying down from the '60s, Bulle Ogier came along to remind Americans that French films were still packed full of ooh-la-la. Plenty of guys packed the arthouses to check out Bulle's valley in La Vallée (1972). And those long legs made the trip to her valley very pleasurable, while Bulle's modest French pastries also made for a real treat. She then became a true international star with the worldwide success of The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972). Maîtresse (1976) further established Bulle as a truly shameless starlet, dolled up in fetish outfits as a seriously sick dominatrix. But Bulle can also be sexy in normal settings, as seen when she went topless in Tricheurs (1984). She's gone on to become one of France's busiest actresses (and a respected screenwriter), although the nude scenes have fallen by the wayside. Bulle is still sexy in clothed roles, though, as seen in Irma Vep (1996), in which her bitchy character casually announced the lesbian yearnings of one of her party guests.
