Despite the splashy packaging, Blood Moon (2001), a.k.a. Wolf Girl, isn’t any kind of horror flick. Instead, TV critics praised this film as a sensitive drama when an edited version debuted on the USA cable network. Victoria Sanchez stars as a young girl whose medical condition reduces her to working in a freak show. She’s billed as a “Wolf Girl” due to a disorder that’s covered her fine bod with hair. Then her life changes for the better when hunky Shawn Ashmore provides her with a drug that sheds the hair and does wonders for Victoria’s nude scenes. Too bad about the psychological complications, though, which lead to . . . well, some wolf-like behavior.
